Breakfast with CAPTAIN JAMES YEE

Come for breakfast and conversation with Captain James Yee, the former US Army Muslim Chaplain who served at the Guantanamo Bay military detention center before being wrongly accused of treason, imprisoned, and later discharged. His story should be of interest to anyone concerned with the issues of race, religion, and human rights in the age of the "War on Terror." RSVP by Tuesday, March 28 to cmc7@duke.edu. The Griffith Board Room is located in the Office of Student Activities and Facilities, on the first floor of the Bryan Center.

Captain Yee will also be featured in a public program later that evening:

Yee ProfileFOR GOD AND COUNTRY: FAITH AND PATRIOTISM UNDER FIRE:
A CONVERSATION WITH CAPTAIN JAMES YEE
7:30 pm @ the Richard White Auditorium (East Campus)
To be followed by book-signing

Captain Yee's visit is organized by the Duke Human Rights Initiative, with co-sponsorship by the Center for the Study of Muslim Networks, Muslim Students Association, Regulator Bookshop, and the Multicultural Center. Click here for more information and here to download event flyer.
