About the Speaker

Leo Ching received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego. He teaches Japanese language and culture. His research interests include colonial discourse studies, postcolonial theory, Japanese mass culture, and theories of globalization and regionalism. He is the author of Becoming Japanese: Colonial Taiwan & the Politics of Identity Formation.
