This series seeks to offer students the skills and knowledge needed to make positive financial decisions, and at the same time, broach larger discussions about financial challenges facing college students. You’ll be glad you came. An hour and a half now will save you lenthy agony later!
All workshops in the “Figuring out Finances” series are held on Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 7pm in the Multicultural Center, and led by Scottie Dowdy, Financial Counselor, Duke University Federal Credit Union. Refreshments will be served. Please sign-up by emailing vcw @ duke.edu. Bring your friends!

Nov. 6: Plastic Surgery: Avoiding—and Getting Out of—Credit Card Debt
Credit cards can be an invaluable money management tool but they can also lead to financial disaster. Learn the ins and outs of applying for and using credit cards amidst growing credit card offers, including those from department stores. Get a handle on the kind of debt you are incurring.
