Student Leadership Development Program:

ONLINE RESOURCES

Mission
The Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP) is intended to supplement the leadership opportunities currently available to students at Duke. Grounded in both philosophical and organizational modes of thinking about student leadership, the SLDP is designed to offer students online resources as well as workshops to address key leadership issues or areas that have been identified via research on the needs of cultural student groups.

How to Use This Resource
A large portion of the SLDP is devoted to online resources for student leaders to use at their own convenience, share with their peers, and refer back to when questions, concerns, and issues arise throughout the year. In addition to the online resources, the SLDP will also host occasional workshops related to any of the tracks and topics.

Who can use this resource:
Although the SLDP was originally developed to address the needs of cultural student groups, all student groups are welcome to use the resources of the program.

Why online resources:
Due to the busy, taxing schedules of student leaders, a large portion of the SLDP is devoted to online resources so that these students can access the resources 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Although periodic workshops will be hosted and student leaders are encouraged to attend if their schedules permit, we acknowledge that a workshop frequently has a limited audience and range of influence. In contrast, online resources are readily accessible by today's student leaders and those of the future.
