ACTIVISM

What  is Activism?
Activism  may be defined a number of ways. For all intents and purposes  of this track, activism is generally the ongoing strive for change  and improvements. Activism may be for social issues such as civil  rights, poverty, and war; community interests for African Americans,  LGBT individuals, and women; campus improvements including safety,  funding, and housing; and a wide variety of other interests, needs,  and concerns.

Why  is Activism Important?
Activism  is important because it is the primary agent for change. Without activism, the status quo would never be questioned. Activism ensures  that change is  for the better  and in the interest of those who will be affected.
