In a relaxed and fun environment, have meaningful and stimulating conversation on issues you care about. And learn something while you're at it!
All About Friendships

As you work to balance your academic, social, personal and emotional lives, how often do you think of one of the most important ingredients necessary for your overall health? Good friends. How do you make friends? Do you have tips you would like to share re: how you decide who important to you community of friends.. Join us for a meal & a frank discussion in the Multicultural Center this Wednesday, 5-6:30 pm.
Maintaining Healthy Relationships: Making a Connection
Wednesday, Sept. 24, 6-7:30pm, Multicultural Center.
Participate in a discussion on methods to maintaining healthy relationships with our friends and family led by Claribel Estrella-Blake(MPH), Director of Health Education & Community Outreach and Wendy Domingue, a Health Educator, both from Health Plus, a public health insurance program for low-income children and adults. They work to develop health promotion and disease prevention programs for ethnically diverse communities throughout NYC. This event is held in place of this week's "MCC Chat," in coordination with Zeta Phi Beta.
Family Matters

Join us for a meaningful discussion about the role of family in each of our lives. Does family conjure anxiety, longing, dread, indifference, or some of the above? What kind of pressures or joys do family offer? How has it been to be "away" from "home"? Come talk about strategies for understanding and negotiating your relationship to family, especially as fall break approaches.

Join us for a meaningful discussion about academics. Are classes kicking your butt? Trying to stay motivated and figure out what you want to study? Looking for the joy of learning? You're not alone! Join us as we wade through expectations and stigmas, examine the academic demands at Duke, and talk about experiences navigating classes.
Beyond the Birds and the Bees

Have an awkward turtle moment in mind? Would you like to discuss sex and communication in a relaxed and nonjudgmental fashion? Tired of the typical “high school sex-ed”-like lectures? If you are seeking a group of interested peers who want to talk about sexual health and communication, in the college sense and the real life sense, join the MCC for its “MCC Chat” on November 5th from 5-6:30pm. Come out for free food and a meaningful discussion! Sponsored by the Multicultural Center and Student Health!
