Message from the Director
Welcome to the Duke Center for Multicultural Affairs
I would like to extend a warm welcome to the
members of the Duke community, prospective students and other
valued visitors. The Duke Center for Multicultural Affairs emerged
from the Office of Intercultural Affairs in the spring of 2001 as a
direct result of a proposal authored by a number of cultural group
organizations and the former Office of Intercultural Affairs. Its
founders imagined it to be a resource center for all members of the
campus community.
In honor of that vision, we provide a wide range of diversity, cross-cultural, and multicultural services. We also actively welcome new and innovative programming ideas from all members of the community.
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to make full use of our beautiful multipurpose space and our library of multimedia resources. All are invited to plan events in the center as well as to attend those that we host.
The Duke Center for Multicultural Affairs is committed to being a key player on the university’s team dedicated to the creation of a richly diverse and unified campus community.
Please join us as we work to help fulfill this
important mission. Our doors are open to all members of the Duke
community.
